In addition to meeting ADA standards, our state-of-the-art facility incorporates specially designed lighting and sensory features. Our resources are designed to help each person achieve their full potential. Our "one-stop shopping" model integrates clinical and non-clinical approaches and training to the individuals who have a diagnosis on the autism spectrum or to fam ily members touched by this diagnosis. The Mission of the ARCH of Lehigh Valley is to provide a safe, therapeutic and educational environment for people with autism -- regardless of age or ability -- and their families. The mission is accomplished by offering a range of clinical and community supports, resources and educational materials and training. These services will take place in an inviting and user-friendly service center, through a network of providers who are trained in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

We invite you to bring your exceptional skills and experiences to the Elwyn Lehigh Valley in this extremely rewarding role. In the role of Therapeutic Staff Support-PRN you will:

  • Provide one-on-one interventions to a child at home, school, day care, other community-based program sites or community settings to support the child in developing skills and improving behaviors.
  • Work directly with the Behavior Specialist in implementing interventions designed by the treatment team.
  • Provide:
    • crisis intervention techniques
    • immediate behavioral reinforcements
    • emotional support
    • time structuring activities
    • time out strategies
    • passive restraints (when necessary)
    • any additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan

Essential Job Requirements for the Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) are:

  • Commitment and dedication to Elwyn's mission and core values.
  • Compassion for and desire to work with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate successfully with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Two (2) years experience working directly with special children or adolescents in the mental health system, with one year experience directly related to specific conditions being addressed.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in a counseling, psychology, social work, counseling, juvenile justice, or other human service-related field is preferred.
  • Associate's Degree or 60 credits towards a Bachelor's Degree or a Licensed Practical Nurse with three (3) years verified full-time paid work experience in direct contact with children/adolescents is required.
  • Driver's License is required with a safe driving record.
